How much does it cost?

Our debt recovery services start from 8% of any monies recovered covering mainland United Kingdom. Overseas recovery starts from 12%.

How long does it take?

It is difficult to estimate how long a debt will take to collect. At Debt Collection Agency we believe in a staged recovery program. First contact requesting payment, second contact explaining what our further actions will be and our third approach will be to carry out those actions.

Can the debt recovery costs be added to the debt?

This will often depend on your terms and conditions. We at Debt Collection Agency often negotiate a payment plan with the debtor. In these cases we seek agreement for the debtor to cover all the collection costs.

Who pays the legal fees?

Where lawful and legally possible all costs are pasted on to the debtor. On occasions this action will depend on your terms and conditions.

Can we add interest to the debt?

The United Kingdom was one of the first European Union countries to implement late payment legislation, a statutory interest rate of 8% above base rate was introduced.

Does it matter how old the debt is?

Yes a debt must not be over six years old.

What are the different debt collection methods used?

Each debt is looked at on an individual basis. Our debt collection process entails letters, phone calls, text messages, e-mails and personal visits. Followed by legal action if that is agreed to be the best solution.

When is legal action taken?

No legal action is ever taken with out your authority. If our first approaches fail we will contact you and discuss legal action costs and implications.

Is the money recovered sent directly to the client?

In most cases all monies recovered go directly to you the client.

Does Debt Recovery require a Credit Consumer License?

When dealing with commercial debt no license is required.
